Bollywood Femme
UDITA & GAYA

Udita and Gaya have been dancing since they were 3 years old. They started their journey in the classical dance of Bharathnatyam and completed their Arangetram in 2012. Since then, both have participated in collegiate dance teams--both fusion and bhangra. Post college, they've taught Bollywood, aiming to bring dance to people of all skill, age, and interest. Udita and Gaya's mission is to bring fun and energy into each class and spread the love of Bollywood to everyone they dance with.

Hip hop
Vimal Bellamkonda

SUN MAR 12 @ 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM

Vimal started his hip-hop training in high school, and has danced and choreographed for a variety of teams throughout college. He's exhibitioned/competed at multiple hip-hop competitions, most recently at World of Dance Dallas 2022 with the Piecemakers. Nowadays, he is very involved and takes classes at Puzzle Box. 

He likes to make quick, high-energy hip-hop pieces, and he loves to help people get comfortable with the choreography and add their own spin on it. He's excited to make this a fun class.

Bollyhop
Shan Rajani

Shan grew up in Tennessee with a love for Bollywood dancing, heavily inspired by Hrithik Roshan in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. Growing up he participated and choreographed children’s dances in cultural/religious events. His love for dance sparked again during quarantine through social media. After moving to Chicago in 2022 he immersed himself into workshops in all forms to broaden his horizons in all aspects of dance adding to his experience of a self taught dancer.

Ria has been dancing Bollywood for as long as she can remember, performing and choreographing for various events in her Houston community. At her university, she spent a couple years with a Bollywood Fusion and a Bhangra team, experiencing the collegiate circuit and performing at competitions nationwide. Recently, she has spent the past year in Chicago participating in various workshops, challenging herself with different styles and immersing herself in the dance community.

Sigma Satabdhi

SUN APR 2 @ 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM

Sigma has been dancing since the age of 3. She was exposed to street styles in her undergrad years. She started her professional training in Odissi and Street styles in 2011 from Nrityantar Academy of Performing Arts and The Swingers Dance Inc. respectively. She has performed in several Odissi International dance festivals in Bhubaneshwar, India and is a recipient of 2013 Yuva Prativa Puraskar (award).

She moved to Chicago in 2014 to pursue her masters at UIC where she had the oppurtunity to compete at NDA as a part of UIC's official dance team, The Dancing Flames.Training is a big part of her lifestyle. She believes that to be able to create, one has to train and research the art forms. Currently she is training under

some of the renowned artists like Guru Madhulita Mohapatra, Chow En Lai Phukan, Charles L Parks and Domé Lorusso.
